Overview

Repligen is actively recruiting for a sustainability manager to round out our corporate Sustainability team, based at our world headquarters in Waltham, MA. We are looking for a stellar candidate to help elevate our team and accelerate efforts around our ambitious global and site-level ESG (environmental, social, governance) initiatives that support our overall sustainability strategy. Backed by a strong commitment to sustainability from executive leadership, Repligen recently published our second Corporate Sustainability Report in November 2023 and submitted our commitment letter to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in December 2023. The right candidate will enable us to build on this strong momentum to demonstrate leadership in corporate sustainability.

 

This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Global Sustainability. We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated sustainability professional who is familiar with the quickly evolving disclosure reporting landscape and brings a balanced skillset of both qualitative and quantitative strengths. As part of our high-visibility team, that is grounded in Global Operations and reports into our COO, this position has the potential for strong impact on the company’s Sustainability program, including a focus on supporting the growth and maturity of the emissions reduction plan to achieve Net Zero by 2050. Flexibility and adaptability are foundational skills required to assist the individual in navigating different focus topics, work styles and functional priorities, while building important connections across all levels of the organization.

 

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Global Sustainability you will work within the Sustainability team and cross-functional colleagues to:

  • Support and enable sustainability-focused programs and initiatives within the organization to drive progress and positive change towards the company’s climate goals
  • Ensure timely and accurate global environmental data inputs and other metrics into the official software system of record for decision-making and disclosure reporting
  • Assist with internal and external sustainability inquiries, requests, questionnaires, surveys, calculations and reporting
  • Enable our global ESG Ambassador Network and cross-functional teams to interpret and act on energy usage trends and other site-level metrics
  • Routinely interact with subject matter experts across functions and global sites, including Engineering, Facilities, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Commercial, and others
  • Demonstrate a solid command of concepts related to emissions reduction, mass balance, recycling, and circularity
  • Track, understand and communicate the impacts of US, EU and other relevant international sustainability regulations on the business
  • Contribute to publishing the company’s sustainability-related communications via polished spelling, grammar, and journalistic capabilities with methodical attention to detail
  • Demonstrate advanced computer skills in MS Office suite and the ability to learn new programs
  • Demonstrate excellent relationship-building skills across function and level with colleagues, business partners, suppliers, and other service providers as applicable
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly collaborative working environment
  • Work on-site in the Waltham office

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related field, advanced degree or certifcation a plus
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a corporate or professional office setting, 7+ years preferred
  • Minimum 3 years (of the 5-7 years) in Life Science / Biotechnology industry preferred
  • Knowledge of corporate sustainability and ESG including internationally recognized standard reporting frameworks (SASB, TCFD, GRI, IFRS, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with Smartsheet and SharePoint a plus
  • Experience with sustainable packaging concepts and impacts will set you apart from other candidates
  • Understanding of the GHG Protocol both for guidance and application to emissions reporting standards
  • Positive attitude, self-discipline and sense of ownership to drive and deliver high quality results
