Overview

The VP of Finance Operations will be based in Repligen’s Waltham, MA facility and will provide strategic financial leadership for global manufacturing sites, managing all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and reporting while collaborating with plant leadership to optimize costs and improve operational performance. This leader will support factory operations as a day-to-day finance & accounting business partner; support ongoing factory operations with reporting, variance analysis, and problem-solving; drive improvements to factory operations & profits; help prepare forecasts and budgets for the factory; and ensure inventory and related cost of sales are accurately stated globally.  Furthermore, the VP of Finance Operations will serve as the primary operations partner to the COO, working closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making, operational efficiency and drive business growth. This role reports directly into the CFO with 4 direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as dedicated finance business partner to the Chief Operating Officer, leading team responsible for providing financial reporting, analysis and forecasting for global manufacturing plants
  • Responsible for global cost accounting team and inventory reporting, including variances, reserves, annual standards setting and transfer pricing
  • Provide financial insights and analysis for the plant and manufacturing networks to support strategic decision-making and investment prioritization
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to drive cost optimization initiatives and improve operational efficiency
  • Establish, monitor and analyze plant performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Drive standard plant and network reporting, including utilization, production variances, plant performance
  • Accountable for manufacturing operations budget and forecast setting, including reserves, variances, revaluations, and partnering with the FPA team on complete plant budgets
  • Collaborate with Operations Leader, Supply Chain Leader and other senior site managers to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and participate in strategic business discussions and decisions.
  • Partner with Sourcing/Procurement and RPS teams to drive cost savings.
  • Drive automation, simplification, and process efficiency throughout the cost accounting & finance processes, including enhancing standard reporting to functional teams
  • Partner with Controllership function to ensure accounting entries are booked appropriately to report on plant and product line metrics
  • Serve as liaison with external auditors for all inventory, costing and COGS related requests
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop strategic plans, long-term financial goals, and annual operating plans for manufacturing plants
  • Provide technical and hands-on implementation support for merger and acquisition activity, as required
  • Perform special accounting analysis and projects, as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • 15+ years of accounting experience required in manufacturing companies
  • Public accounting experience required (Big 4/National CPA firm preferred)  
  • CPA / Chartered Accountants license preferred
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Self-starter with ability to manage work autonomously
  • Ability to multitask and meet assigned deadlines
  • Familiar with ERP software as well as accounting/auditing principles (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with remote colleagues

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $250,000- $308,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
