  • Perform cell culture and associated analytical assay activities for monoclonal antibody, recombinant protein and viral vector production in batch, fed-batch and perfusion modes using mammalian cell lines in shake flasks, stirred tank and single-use bioreactors.
  • Execute protocols and studies to generate application data related to filtration-based perfusion cell culture to support existing technologies and new product development.
  • Trouble-shoot cell culture processes by monitoring cell growth, viability, productivity and other cell culture metabolites.
  • Issue internal scientific reports and publish articles in peer reviewed and trade journals. Present talks and posters at scientific conferences.
  • Actively participate in expanding Repligen’s IP in the field of filtration-based perfusion cell culture applications by submitting invention disclosures.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S Degree in chemical engineering, biological sciences, or applicable field with at least 5 years or MS with at least 3 years of industrial experience in a process or application development setting.
  • Extensive understanding in biological process sciences, upstream process development including aseptic techniques, and cell culture processes.
  • Experienced hands-on work setting up lab (2-10L) and pilot (50-200L) scale bioreactors, cultivating cells, and optimizing feeding and perfusion strategies.
  • Experience in monoclonal antibody and recombinant protein upstream process development for therapeutic or vaccine applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in design of experiments (DoE), strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
