Overview

The automation engineer will report directly to the R&D Automation lead.

Responsibilities

·        Lead and assist in the deployment of process automation solutions for filtration systems used in Biologics lab and manufacturing facilities

·        Support programming, configuration, installation, and testing of control systems

·        Review and upgrade existing automation solutions as part of continuous improvement efforts

·        Ensures regulatory compliance through documentation, qualification / validation of systems

Qualifications

 Required Skillsets:

·        Familiar with PLC programming with Ladder logic, Function Block, STL or Boolean logic (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wago, Bedrock)

·        Familiar with SCADA such as Wonderware, IFix, Ignition, Siemens WinCC, Delta-V; higher-level programming languages such as Visual Basic / Python / Java; familiar with SQL and relational database administration

·        Experience with Electric Motor Control/Drive Configuration; Familiar with LAN networking, switches, data cabling, and topology

·        Quick learner and ability to get up to speed with related technologies and its implementation

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 

·        B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree

·        1- 3 years track record in automation/controls engineering

·        Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

·        Ability to lead and excel in a cross functional team environment

·        Work with suppliers to develop functional test fixtures

·        Demonstrated problem solving, analytical and project management / planning skills

·        Able to work with outside vendors and manage their assigned work
