Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the reliability, functionality, and performance of software that operates within our hardware-based products for the bioprocessing  industry. You will work closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and product management teams to validate that our integrated systems meet user expectations and quality standards. You will also be encouraged to provide suggestions to improve usability and simplicity of operation, as a contributor to developments in progress.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software running on hardware-based platforms.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing across software and hardware components.
  • Set up, configure, and operate hardware units during testing cycles.
  • Document and report defects using issue tracking systems (Jira); work closely with development teams for resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand product requirements and design effective validation strategies.
  • Perform firmware/software upgrade and rollback testing on products as part of lifecycle management validation
  • Verify hardware-software interactions, including connectivity, data acquisition, and control functionalities.
  • Contribute to the automation of testing procedures where applicable.
  • Participate in design and code reviews with an eye toward testability and quality.
  • Support the release process by validating build quality and readiness for production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in software QA testing, preferably with hardware-software integrated products.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience working with hardware devices, embedded systems, or IoT products is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, TestRail).
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum development environment
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (such as FCR 21 Part 11, GAMP5) is preferred
  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
