We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bioprocessing Sales Specialist – Upstream Intensification to join our growing commercial team. This individual will be responsible for driving sales of Repligen’s differentiated upstream bioprocessing portfolio—including technologies critical to the production of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), vaccines, and cell & gene therapies—across a high-impact territory on the East Coast of the United States.
The successful candidate will bring a strong background in upstream bioprocessing, a proven track record of territory management, and deep knowledge of upstream process intensification technologies. Reports To: Director, Upstream Intensification
Location: Home office-based within the territory (South East or Mid West, USA)
Travel: Approximately 50%, supporting Bioproduction Account Managers across the Southeast and Midwest regions of North America
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership: Drive the sales process through Territory Managers to achieve or exceed sales and profitability targets for the Upstream product portfolio.
Product Promotion: Promote and sell a portfolio of upstream solutions, clearly communicating product value propositions and differentiators to customers.
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive regional management plan in collaboration with the Regional Sales Director and VP of Sales Development.
Sales Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations with customer technical teams and planning departments.
Key Account Management: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts to support long-term business growth.
New Business Development: Identify, engage, and develop new target accounts throughout the assigned territory.
Customer Lifecycle Support: Guide and support customers as they progress through the clinical pipeline—from lab scale to full-scale manufacturing.
CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely sales forecasts and customer information using a leading CRM platform.
Voice of Customer: Serve as the customer and market advocate within the organization to inform strategy and decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Business and Market Development teams to share competitive, market, and product insights.
Sales Enablement: Contribute to the development and refinement of sales tools and collateral.
Field Sales Execution: Conduct customer visits, deliver technical presentations, and coordinate lab demonstrations where applicable.
Event Engagement: Represent the company at trade shows and industry events; manage pre-show planning and post-event follow-up.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Minimum of a BSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field).
Industry Experience: 5–10+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical or life science industries, with a strong focus on upstream processing. Comprehensive understanding of the full bioprocessing workflow is highly desirable.
Preferred: Hands-on experience with XCell ATF systems and upstream perfusion processes.
Sales Performance: Demonstrated track record of success in sales and business development within the bioprocessing work flow.
Relationship Management: Proven ability to establish and nurture trusted, collaborative relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, forecasting, and strategic planning capabilities.
Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory to support customers and drive business growth

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $164,000-$189,500. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
