Overview

The Molding Operator II is a mid-level role within Repligen’s Plastic Molding manufacturing group. Based in cleanroom production suites, this position is responsible for manufacturing moderately complex molded parts that support the bioprocessing industry. These include multi-dimensional, dual-element, and high-demand parts.

 

Building on the skills and experience of an Operator I, this role requires additional technical knowledge, independent problem-solving, and a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and safety. Molding Operator II employees will also be trained in processes that involve multiple mold tools, a higher level of precision detail as well as exceptional attention to quality standards. Successful performance at this level can lead to progression to a Sr. Molding Operator.

 

Third shift Operators receive a +$2.00 shift differential in addition to their hourly base pay for working this shift

Third Shift Schedule: Sunday- Thursday 10:00pm-6:30am

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture all molded parts classified within the Operator II production level, including high-priority products.
  • Adhere to all aspects of Repligen’s Quality Management System and Quality Policy.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed production quantity and quality expectations.
  • Accurately complete production paperwork for each job, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Understand the impact of timely and accurate project completion on downstream operations.
  • Demonstrate readiness for more advanced assignments by excelling in Operator II responsibilities and supporting higher-level projects.
  • Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines and minimize downtime.
  • Properly handle and maintain molds, ensuring cleanliness and preventing damage.
  • Follow procedures for the care, handling, and safe operation of molding equipment and tools.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of molding, production, or machine operation experience required; liquid injection molding experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot molding equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Reliable transportation required (location not accessible by public transit).
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English required
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

 

 

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching during shifts.
  • Work performed in a manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
