Overview

The Distribution and Inventory Control Supervisor oversees all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing products, materials, and supplies. This role is responsible for supervising staff to ensure proper handling of incoming receipts and the safe, efficient use of equipment such as forklifts and other warehouse tools. The supervisor ensures accurate and timely documentation, maintains organized records, and drives operational excellence in daily warehouse activities. Additionally, this position manages inventory accuracy through regular blind cycle counts, physical inventory checks, and other control methods to ensure efficient product flow and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient material movement, and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular blind cycle counts, physical inventory checks, and data analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, production, logistics, and sales operations to align inventory levels, forecasts, and production schedules.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and operational performance across distribution and inventory functions.
  • Ensure compliance with all warehousing, logistics, ISO, IATA, and DOT regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and guide warehouse staff, delegating assignments, setting priorities, and fostering a culture of accountability and safety.
  • Analyze inventory trends, movement patterns, and aging to support accurate forecasting and optimize inventory turns.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions in response to audit findings or process deviations.
  • Utilize ERP systems (SAP) and reporting tools to monitor inventory performance and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues, support production needs, and maintain operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
  • 5+ years of relevant business experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role within warehouse, distribution, or inventory control operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and guide teams toward achieving business objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including proficiency in data analysis and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities, business needs, and external conditions.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and process management skills.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk regularly, lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs, and occasionally climb, stoop, or kneel in a warehouse environment.

The estimated hourly rate/salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $75,000/Yr. -$97,000/Yr.. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
