About the Role

Repligen is seeking a hands-on, strategic Sr. Director, Global IT Infrastructure & Operations to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our global technology infrastructure, end-user services, and site support. This role partners closely with business and IT stakeholders to build an infrastructure & end-user services roadmap aligned to business strategy, while overseeing internal teams, MSPs, and vendors to ensure high-quality, secure, and reliable services.

You will lead and develop a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure our infrastructure and end-user computing needs meet the needs of a fast-growing, globally distributed Life Sciences organization.

Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Architecture

  • Develop and maintain the global IT/OT infrastructure architecture aligned to business goals and Life Sciences regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate people, processes, and technologies to ensure an optimal global infrastructure strategy.
  • Plan and lead infrastructure and cloud design, upgrades, scalability, and modernization efforts.
  • Plan and lead daily IT operations using ITSM practices, collaborating on cybersecurity and compliance, and leading a global team.

Technical & Operational Execution

  • Provide Tier 3+ technical leadership for incident and problem resolution.
  • Oversee network, cloud, server, data center, storage, telecommunications, industrial control systems, and mobile device management environments.
  • Drive daily IT operations using best-practice ITSM frameworks (ITIL). Ensure robust incident, problem, and change management processes are in place to meet stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for critical business systems.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring, performance optimization, and documentation standards.
  • Drive GxP-compliant infrastructure planning, capacity management, and validation practices.

Vendor, MSP & Budget Management

  • Manage MSPs, vendors, and partners to ensure SLA-driven service delivery.
  • Lead vendor contract negotiations and performance governance.
  • Manage infrastructure  and operations budgets and investment business cases to support new technologies and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure vendor and financial management, developing disaster recovery plans, and collaborating with other teams.

Security, Risk & Compliance

  • Assess infrastructure risks and implement technologies/processes to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements, SOX/GxP standards, and ITIL processes.
  • Maintain reliable, repeatable processes for change, patching, provisioning, and validation.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Proven track record of successfully modernizing legacy IT environments, implementing cloud-first strategies, and driving automation and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
  • Research and recommend new technologies that enable innovation, efficiency, or cost optimization.
  • Lead infrastructure & operations projects, including new capabilities, site expansions, and facility moves.
  • Implement enhancements that improve reliability, performance, and user experience.

Qualifications

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

Experience

  • 15 years of progressively responsible experience in IT Infrastructure & Operations leadership.
  • Broad technical background covering infrastructure, network, storage, cloud, data center, and virtualization technologies.
  • Deep technical knowledge in network and server security; FortiOS and Nutanix highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management).
  • Demonstrated success delivering high-quality customer service, including at the executive level.
  • Expert knowledge of:
  • LAN/WAN, DNS, Active Directory
  • Data center operations
  • Firewalls/VPNs
  • Server setup/configuration/administration
  • Virtualization technologies
  • Automation and IaC tools and implementations
  • Experience managing GxP and SOX-compliant systems (Life Sciences preferred).
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

What Repligen Offers

Focused on cost and process efficiencies, we deliver innovative technologies and solutions that help set new standards in bioprocessing. The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $198,735 -$304,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts.
