Overview

The Manufacturing Lead – Plastics is a key lead role within Repligen’s manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of molded plastic components. The Lead will oversee daily production activities, ensure equipment and tooling are properly maintained, and provide direction, support, and accountability for team members. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of coordinating operations to meet production schedules and company goals.

 

Third shift Operators receive a +$2.00 shift differential in addition to their hourly base pay for working this shift.

Third Shift Schedule: Sunday- Thursday 10:00pm-6:30am.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership, guidance, and direction to production staff in alignment with injection molding and packaging requirements.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of injection molding machines, including startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure proper mold and tool care, evaluation, and maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assign, monitor, and track work orders to meet the production schedule and ensure all parts are manufactured to quality standards.
  • Maintain accountability within the team for attendance, productivity, and adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, providing accurate updates on job status, challenges, and completion timelines.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to resolve production issues.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained in departmental processes, tooling care, and equipment operation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within the manufacturing area.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of Repligen’s Quality Management System and Quality Policy.
  • Conduct performance reviews, approve vacation requests, and verify employee timecards.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Level I, II, and III part requirements and associated production processes.
  • Support and enforce company policies and safety standards consistently.
  • Utilize SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and related systems to manage and track production data and performance metrics.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications / Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in plastic injection molding, packaging, or related manufacturing processes strongly preferred.
  • Cleanroom manufacturing experience desired.
  • Proven ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, rulers).
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project); experience with SAP preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours or shifts as needed to support production.

The estimated hourly rate/salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $23/Hr-$30/Hr. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
