Overview

The Molding Operator I is in the Repligen’s Plastics Injection Molding manufacturing group. The Operator I position is responsible for the production, assembly, and quality inspection of both basic and complex components within our ISO 9001 qualified environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Use hand tools and operate automated machinery.     
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings for visual defects. 
  • Sustain a clean and safe work environment while meeting expected production rates. 
  • Comply with all aspects of the Quality Management system and Quality Policy. 
  • Meet or exceed production quantities expected for each part. 
  • Fill out production paperwork correctly for each production job. 
  • Maintain records in accordance with procedures. 
  • Manage time cycle time accordingly to ensure production time are met. 
  • Show proper care and handling of molds and equipment to reduce downtime and broken parts.  
  • Demonstrate understanding of all equipment and assembly procedures for each work center.  
  • Acknowledge potential issues or inefficiencies and notify team leads as needed 
  • Show the ability to be a team player and maintain a positive attitude to achieve company goals.   
  • Use of lean manufacturing principles  
  • Assist in other areas as required.  

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Manufacturing experience preferred 
  • No prior injection molding experience required; training provided on the job. 
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. 
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision. 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Basic computer/data entry skills a plus. 
  • Reliable transportation required (location not accessible by public transit). 
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English required. 
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. 
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching during shifts. 
  • Work performed in a manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment. 

What Repligen Offers

The estimated hourly rate/salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $21/Hr. -$25/Hr.. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts. All compensation and benefits information will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
