We are seeking a Senior Director of Operations/Site Lead to join our Marlborough site. The objective of the Sr. Director of Operations/Site Lead role is to create transformative, comprehensive, and self-sustaining operational excellence capabilities across the site while working in close collaboration with each of the functional leaders. The incumbent is responsible for creating an aligned vision for the site, building a continuous improvement culture to develop capability and improve key performance indicators, lead / managing site resources, developing and implementing an operational plan and ensuring that procedures are carried out properly and objectives are exceeded. Additionally, they will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and implementing initiatives to drive safety, quality, the customer experience, revenue growth, and productivity.

 

This role will be based in Marlborough, MA and will report to the Vice President of Operations. 

Responsibilities

The Senior Director Operations/Site Lead will be responsible for:

  • Lead all operations at the site, including functional oversight of Repligen Performance System (RPS), Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, Engineering, Quality and Customer Service Order Processing.
  • Determine the strategic direction of the site with the goal of increasing efficiency and profitability.
  • Focus on delivering quality products to our customers based on our commitments.
  • Achieve operational and financial results to plan.
  • Ensure that the operation is in compliance with all aspects of Repligen's IS09001 Quality Management System.
  • Sustain a culture of continuous improvement through the Repligen Performance System. This includes leading through RPS by championing a site vision and plan to achieve this vision, value stream mapping to create 6-month target states, driving kaizen and Root-cause countermeasure as ‘way of life’ to solve problems to root cause, going to ‘Gemba’ to coach, support and observe for opportunity.
  • Cultivate a safe environment of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Assess talent needs and build the team through people development and recruitment.
  • Report metrics, as required.
  • Respond to onsite emergency calls as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable business policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field preferred, 10+ years' experience in manufacturing including 2 years in biotechnology or life sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment is required.
  • Demonstrated experience of direct supervisory and/or managerial experience is required.
  • Previous successful site leadership experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in cGMP / regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Understanding of key financial and operational drivers.
  • Proficiency in problem solving and cost reduction.
  • Ability to concisely communicate status, needs, forecasts, risks, and timelines.
  • Knowledge and experience deploying lean manufacturing principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication capabilities.
  • Understand complex manufacturing environments and working in a matrix structure.
  • Experience leading multiple complex projects.
  • Track record of developing high performing teams.

Focused on cost and process efficiencies, we deliver innovative technologies and solutions that help set new standards in bioprocessing. The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $193,800-285,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts.
