Overview

The Process Engineering Test Lab is seeking two summer interns to support component and product qualification testing activities at the Hopkinton, MA site. This internship focuses on laboratory testing of fluid management products associated with new product introductions (NPI), customer requests, current product testing, and associated test reports. The interns will play a critical role in supporting laboratory testing and report writing to help ensure timely delivery of test data required for Repligen.

Responsibilities

  • Support component and product testing activities for NPI, customer requests, and existing products.
  • Execute experiments by collecting data, and recording
  • Operate calibrated laboratory equipment to execute qualification tests such as universal testing (tensile machines), automated leak testers, peristaltic pumps.
  • Carefully adhere to outlined standard operating procedure and protocols to conduct testing and document test results. Assist with test data documentation and report
  • Work under the guidance of the Process Engineering team to increase testing throughput in the Junction Testing Lab.
  • Contribute to efforts aimed at reducing the junction testing backlog from approximately six months to one month.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an engineering, or similar degree program at an accredited college or university. Rising junior or senior preferred
  • Ability to design and execute experiments and perform structured testing in a manufacturing or engineering context.
  • Capability to analyze experimental data and clearly document results and conclusions.
  • Interest in or exposure to manufacturing process improvement and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work onsite in Hopkinton and complete meaningful project deliverables within an 8–12 week internship period.
  • Possible travel to other Repligen sites within Massachusetts. 

 Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to use hand tools, and equipment including repetitive forceful gripping, grasping, pushing, and pulling
  • Stand and move during shift, including reaching, bending, stooping, grasping
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to chemical hygiene
  • Follow all safety protocols

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $23/Hr/ - $26/Hr. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.  All compensation and benefits information will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
